Been watching the new catching the impossible recently I happened to see the episode were bowler targets his impossible tench I was amazed when he was given a map and free run of the lake were is the skill in catching a fish when you have done none of the work to achieve this just followed some body else work were to cast what bait to use. Bring back passion for angling.

I don't know why Bowler makes strange noises like he's straining on the bog or summot when he's reeling in a fish...a bit wierd me thinks ! :o

Even though I do prefer Passion tenfold to impossible I'm still gonna try and get the disc's second hand as I think there far from being worth the high price tag when brand new.

But you have to take it in the context of the program "catching the impossible" it's not just about Martin Bowler catching the fish, it's a team effort and they use various experts to try to achieve the "impossible targets". To be honest the only thing that I don't like about the program was the cheating in using a pole to catch the 5lb Perch, it only counts for me if it's on rod and reel but it might be jealousy on my part :D

I think I know where you are coming from, but how many anglers honestly pioneer virgin water and do not make alot or at least some use of the information available to them, granted you don't often get a treasure map of the exact spot to catch a double figure Tench :D To have any chance of achieving the goals on this program they would have to use every resource available to them and I think they have done a great job on the series and think it is one of the best fishing programs ever made

I also enjoyed "passion for angling" but oddly I found this alot more contrived and the same accusations could be made against that for being given a free run of the lake. But that goes for all angling programs, they are always fishing in sanctuary and no fishing swims in order to catch.

'Technically' illegal but it is always easier and cheaper to go to a few well known torrent sites and d/l them and burn them onto dvds. Saved a fortune on the korda underwater range. They were around £20 each in shops with 6 dics in the range making 120 quid at full whack. Cost me about 60p thanks to bulk buying dvds a while back. Bargain lol.

Dales are you new to course fishing? Looking at your catch report it seems that way always wanted to catch an alligator gar and most of the other species on your list were the freshwater fish wild or from purpose built lakes?

Been coarse fishing for a long time, I just left of the native species in the older years as it would take up too much space if I listed all the minnows, gudgeon etc. I have a thing for fishing for exotics on holiday, so some of the exotic species are wild and others are from fisheries. When ever I am abroad I see what fishing is available in that area. Whether thats to do a private deep sea charter, book a guide to take me out for the day or if there is a commercial fishery or free fishing from the beach or river etc it's all good. The alligator gar was from a fishery in Koh Samui Thailand, but if I ever visit the right part of America I would love to catch a wild one.

I don't think it's illegal to buy them second hand. Copies maybe but who am I to argue if someone tells me there genuine discs ;):D .

To be honest I would like to buy the genuine discs but as I say I'm not paying the £90 price tag the three dvds have....it's just to much so i'll go down the second hand path. :)

Tigger,

I think ATS was saying that the advice he was about to pass on (downloading from torrent sites) is illegal, not buying the discs second hand.

TBH I'm not that fussed about either series. Fabulous photography but the rest is so staged and phony.

Martin Bowler was a dreadful choice, total charisma bypass and the squeaky voices in Passion drive me to distraction, like chalk on a blackboard.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.
