Icing on the cake

Still on a bit of a high since Wingham, I decided to try a different lake. This is reputed to hold quite a few double figure tench, so, armed with my new feeders, I went in search of a double.............

Spotted a few fish bubbling, a few medium sized carp cruising about. Loaded the feeder with method mix and maggots and lobbed them out in among the bubblers.

About an hour later...

Excellent Den well done and I shall be trying out a slightly modified version of your feeder set up at the weekend using loaded tube in place of leadcore. Been modifying several feeders this afternoon to take the rig tube. I must say that it is an excellent safe rig and thanks again for sharing it.

It was 40lb 4oz by the way, weighed and witnessed by Paul Forward, and "my mate Ted". What a mate he is too.........pursuaded me to change lakes :)

Just finished editing and making a DVD (to show off with :) )

Thanks for your congrats :)

Steve, thanks again for Wingham...got me going again :)

Tinca, I will put up a pic of the feeder without any feed in, so you can see more detail.

Tinca, pic as promised..

The base and ends are all moulded in one piece out of lead, and weigh 70grams.............good for setting hooks :) The edges are turned up "spoon like". This helps to keep the feed in place, acts like a shield on impact, and lets the feeder rise in the water on the retrieve.

As you can probably tell, they ALWAYS land the right way up...................

My earlier conversions were with 1/16th sheet lead, cut and fitted under the old Fox feeders. Can't buy that model anymore so I had to make my own :)
