I believe that some of the hardwood dusts [cabinet makers/joinery] are just as bad Steve.

 

 

MDF dust is definitely bad for you, you should always wear a mask when cutting it.

It is Cement Asbestos and quite safe unless in powdered form. When chucking ti you WILL need to take precautions but it is relatively safe. The dust/fluff is in fact moss/verdigris which grows on the stuff and start off green and turns grey with age. Again it is relatively safe and I would have no bother personally working with it. you WILL get some council workers who INSIST it is ASBESTOS!! tell them I said rubbish! easy eh?

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Thanks for the replies. Glad it is not really dangerous, but what about the flakes and powder that it is disintegrating into, as seen here :

Not a problem but still insist the council change it even if it is only to give you piece of mind.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

the council wont "change" it ,our shed roof was all asbestos sheeting and distinctly powdery the council couldn't care less .In the end i changed it for some excellent modern equivalent .I asked the council what they wanted doing with their roof (after all its their shed) they said Guildford dump excepted asbestos take it there :rolleyes:

I'm surprised i'm alive i'v sawn it ,ground it and bashed it and on many occasion had lots of fun putting it in bonfires making loud bangs as the sheets exploded :D

 

if someone wants some to make bangs with i have a roofs worth beside my shed ,i'm not fooking using my petrol nor going outside my ten mile circle to do the councils dirty work
