I must not be Mr Average then. I was brought up to respect the law, period.

Don't forget that 50% of the people you know are below average.

what all laws or those that make sense or have a good purpose?

if laws stopped lawbreaking you wouldn't need coppers ,i dare anyone anywhere to say they haven't broken a law ,i dare anyone to say they know all the laws so they cant break some ;)

I seem to remember reading some research that it was impossible for anyone to go a single day without breaking a law add into the equation that in the Uk the Average person is the most watched, recorded and monitored in the world and what do we have? A Police State

in towns perhaps but we don't even have a lamp post within 2 miles never mind a camera upon it :D

not only do you have laws in this country you have fictional laws being used but only a good lawyer could find out which is which and worst of all laws brought in for one thing used to arrest you for another the "terrorism" thousands are fine examples so much even councils use them as an excuse to snoop or worse still fine you

Right back to the mice

Dear little chreatures striving to earn a living during their short life, the very thought of killing these woodland mice is repulsive and as already pointed out a never ending saga.

Google in 'civil rights information uk' or 'your rights as a citizen of the uk' or 'your rights as a british citizen' there is loads of information and the Citizens advice bureau can be very helpful

Anyway back on topic, I am a hunter by nature, I am a Toad by choice...hehehe I think the neighbour is:

1. attempting the impossible.

2. pigheaded.

3. mean.

4. deluded if he thinks he can control nature.

5. inform him that you have not seen any signs of mice and ask politely if it is possible he could be mistaken.

6. ask him what proof he has. get him to show you a handful of mice droppings

7. get him to show you a handful of mice droppings.

8. ask him what he has done or left lying about to encourage them.

9. say that if he has such a large infestation you will inform the local council of the problem

10. find out how he is disposing of the bodies.

11. point out the laws and regulations concerning cruelty to animals.

12. tell him you are now really worried and are going to call in a vermin infestation officer.

On the fun side your neighbour has set himself up to have some great (although possibly illegal prank's played upon him).

a. buy an old dolls house (car boot) or make one put a sign up mouse hotel all welcome above it, it in your garden... maybe even illuminate the sign

You better pm me for other crazy ideas

For yourself stop being so irresponsible and don't ever feed wild birds. What are you trying to do destroy thousands of years of evolution...they are wild they can take care of themselves, its what nature is all about

The last admin brought in thousands of new laws to govern us by, so i'm with you on this one Chesters, most if not all won't be aware that they have committed an offence.

And i agree with that posted below. Paranoia on behalf of the watchers.

quote: I seem to remember reading some research that it was impossible for anyone to go a single day without breaking a law add into the equation that in the Uk the Average person is the most watched, recorded and monitored in the world and what do we have?

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

My wife has been ill and spends a lot of time at home writing in the garden and likes nature to come in and be all around her. Just like ground baiting for fish we feed little and often just to keep them coming in. we have all types of birds coming into the garden and that is what we like. Anyway mankind has done lots to put nature under pressure and sometimes i think its time we put something back.

I have to agree, we have a very un-organic farmers field behind us, cutting down hedges leaving strip around the field for wild life. He has just cut his hedgerows now destroying all the natural food for animals and birds, and he uses artificial fertiliser to get two cuts a year plus a winter tack for sheep on the land. We feed and put up nest boxes plus we have a strip around the garden centre which is home to a wide variety of trees and shrubs with areas planted with meadow flowers and grasses. I am currently build a roof area over some gates in the hopes of providing nesting areas for sparrows, starlings and swallows, and we have two more planned for next year. It all helps to create a nice place to shop, full of working ideas and in a very small way I like to think we put something back.

Perhaps you and the wife get up earlier in the morning and you take her down to the river/lake bank stick her in a bivvy and she will be able to get all the nature she wants, plus you will have your swim ready for you when you decide to go fishing.

No seriously first may I hope your wife is soon well and on the road to a full recovery.

Second I do understand where you are coming from but honestly you are doing wild birds a disservice water in freezing weather maybe, but what will happen to your local birds if you and your wife move away?

Having been stuck at home with a serious illness myself I can fully sympathize with the problem, but two wrongs do not make a right.

I personally believe that nature has a way of coping with idiots (the whole of the human race), maybe it will give us the same treatment as it has metered out to out species that did not consider the overall environment (or their local one at least).

You don't want your wife to suffer from cabin fever nor would I or anyone I know be so selfishly dictatorial as to suggest you deny your wife a simple pleasure...perhaps just be careful what you feed the birds and don't take no c**p from me or your neighbour. Believe in yourself and look after your family above all else. I appologise if I was sounding so extreme, I wanted you to get the idea of the fact across that both you and your neighbour are behaving against the pure interests nature.
