one of my hero`s gone a idol in the 60`s ,honestly though (to my shame) i didnt realise he was still alive

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

 

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

i used to call round to his house in Leigh many a time when i was the local telephone repair man.always on the cadge was Benny ( and Kevin) .i always obliged( for a couple of pints of casters!!) he would chat for ever,great bloke and a sad loss.

Its nearly all been said! I would just add that this angling super-hero, for that was what he was, gave the impression of being an incredibly nice man, and a very modest man. A refreshing change from some of todays self nominated heros!

I too come from Leigh and Benny and Kevin were local stars.

 

I used to walk the canal on a Monday night when the pool match was on hoping to find either of them. I also knew Kevin's son who came to somewhat of a tragic end.

 

Sad news indeed, but he always struck as some one got plenty out of life when was around.
