Anyone know where to get Okuma spares from?

I have an Okuma DR50 and I've broken the handle locking nut plastic. I can't unlock the handle to fold it into the body of the reel now and I'd like to get the nut replaced to prevent any damage to the reel handle.

Many thanks in advance to those who may be able to help. :)

This is the phone number for Svendsen Sports 02920 713820. This is who distributes the Okuma range over here. If you have no look with them let me know and will send you a phone number of a tackle shop who will be able to help.

Seems to me that the only real losers in this price jungle are the Insurance companies. I had a pole replaced after it was stolen, I paid about £1200.00 for it, RRP was £2200.00 and that is what I received!

I've been tempted to buy an Okuma reel but so far haven't because I'm wary about the spares and repairs aspect. You may remember I've expressed misgivings on previous posts.

If I've got to send my reel to Sweeden and back I shall be sticking with Shimanos whose service is outstanding. More expensive to buy I know, but possibly less costly in the long term and certainly more convenient - I'd rarely be without a reel for more than a few days.

However, if anyone can reassure me about the speed of servicing/repair I'll probably change my mind!

What a reel again can't not be matched on price

why pay more.

Like Alan Roe I have no ties with Okuma.

Just wish they would start to make Cars.

I suspect they were designed for the US market where they mostly use heavier line for lure fishing.
