So have I they are a nice reel I got mine new and it was a fraction of the asking price of the ebay one!

As a pure fishing tool though the Browning Revolver is a better reel!

I thought for a moment that the auction was for this reel bought by MikeT a couple of years ago but his was an Aerial Gem, interesting thread though;

Bought for £280 and he didn't get on with it, offered to AN'ers for £280 but no takers, sold on e-bay for £501. If the Perfection is Carter's top model then a starting price of £500 doesn't seem unrealistic, particularly as it has the documented provenance. I've seen a couple of his reels but always felt that Lythes are a little better made.
