I just searched it on google shopping and got no results, so it doesn't look good.

As famous fisherman John Gierach once said "I used to like fishing because I thought it had some larger significance. Now I like fishing because it's the one thing I can think of that probably doesn't."

I may be obtuase here, but what is perch magic?

 

I assume it's a flavouring/additive.

I too have assumed it was one of his flavouring's, I think he might have even written a book on bait additives but I don't seem to have a copy on my shelf, I guess it might be down the shed.

Yes Archie has retired and Walkers was the sole outlet for his range of flavours. I know that Archie intended stopping production of the powder additives due to the time consuming effort in making them.

 

I can only assume that Archie has now stopped all production. In reality the production was all done at his home.

I use the Quest baits Archie mixs from time to time and do think they add some thing to your maggots, but often find it's fun trying some of your own concoctions :D

Before adding the water I stir flavour into it, adding 5mls of Red Surprise to the three quarters of a pint of water. I use this flavour not only because it’s a proven perch attractor, but because it’s a ‘thin’ flavour which disperses into the water faster. My Perch Magic I reserve for dipping worms into, and for treating the dead maggots I use in my Choppy Mix. I don’t supply the trade now, except for my local shop Walkers, 0115 9301816. You can come direct to me, but I would need a cheque with order. There are of course many other flavours you can use, but the two mentioned are the only ones on the market developed for, and exhaustively tested on, perch.
