another problem on old pc?

*Ant*

Recommended Posts

The old desk top that I donated to a friends daughter has come up with another annoying window that pops up continuously -

DLL C:\windows\system32\Jspojy.dll

I've googled it but not getting any results, anyone shed some light on it please?

best would be to trawl through the registry and remove anything referring to it or try running advanced system care or glary utilities to see if they sort it

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Hi Ant.

Download CCleaner it,s free and then click registry and scan for issues, then click fix selected issues, this may solve the problem.

The software also has an excellent cleaner for cookies etc.

Good luck.

the fact that this .dll wont appear on any internet searches for it is an odd thing in and of itself!

can you double check the DLL name?

if it was malware/spyware it would be spilled across the net like a plague! with details on what it did and how to remove it.

if its hardware driver then you can usually assume the same!

in this case NOTHING is coming back at all..anywhere! thats just wrong!! LOL!

even a standard windows DLL will be listed somewhere (usually on DLL replacement sites) so this one is strange

its your choice but rather than just removing stuff with ccleaner etc, if it was me, id be curious to know more about it and whats calling for it!

to do so:

open the RUN command and type in MSCONFIG then from the top of the new windows choose STARTUP

this will show you a nice long list of software that is starting automatically when windows itself starts.

now you can be an uber detective here and carefully disable each one by unticking the boxes down the left hand side and restartign the pc. with luck you will find the program thats calling for the dll...

to do a quick check: click DISABLE ALL and restart. if the problem is still there you nknow its in the registry or other startup areas; if it isnt then you know disabling a program via msconfig will resolve the problem and you can go through the list until you find the right one.

you wont cause any problems disabling things in msconfig. they are pieces of software that start "on top of windows"..the crap that builds up in the taskbar by the clock usually!

to really see what your disabling drag the COMMAND column wider and you can then read the program location that is being called for on startup.

with a bit of time and luck, if the program is in msconfig, you will be able to find the correct piece of software and unistall it to resolve the issue.

It's a bit of Malware (I know not what) that generates exe and dll names randomly, so no point in searching for the file on-line

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Thanks, I think i've sorted it now. :)

Yes the dll name was correct. I tried CCleaner, Advanced System Care, Wise Registry Cleaner and Ad-aware but none of them helped.

I clicked "start" - "run" and typed in "system32" and found it and just deleted it. Not sure if that was the wise thing to do but so far everthing seems ok.

pain in the rear those ones, especially if its the kind that copies its self elsewhere then creates it again (under another random name) if you delete it!

you can right click it to see its properties then go to the version tab, it has details like company. usually the viruses have no information so if its a suspect file with no info in the version tab its safe to say its probably a virus.
