yea loosin a dog is not easy man. When our Gabbi (best border terrier ever!) died my dad engraved some slate and we took it up onto the moors (cos she loved bein up there) and hid the slate in an cairn that also has a plaqe in it for my great granded. Only we know its there so everytime we go up we can get it out and remember her. Something like that down on the bank might be good, somewhere only you and him know about

I'm not really a 'pet' person, but I remember the story from first time round, and it still makes me chuckle.

You've still got memories like that to look back on, and remember him by.
