Do you ever.....

I wouldn't say I lose the desire to go fishing but usually work conspires to deny me the time to go.

Have to say these periods can be useful for thinking through problems and ideas though.

Mind you not that I have much of an excuse since moving to within 800 yards of the Gt Ouse :D

Cheers

Thanks for the replies. I'm DEFINATELY going to go for a few hours one evening this week after work.

I think perhaps that I probably go too much and don't do enough other stuff. Variety is the spice afterall.

One thing is for certain and that's I'd never consider selling my gear.

Cheers.

HB.

I think you can feel like this when you havn't been catching anything worthwhile (ahem!). I blame the weather (weak excuse) at the moment and I admit it has killed my passion a bit. I,m sure once we've had some serious rain and the water levels return to normality, I'll feel like going at it hammer and tongs.

In a word, Howard, yes. This has happened to me too. I once stopped for nearly 10 years (age 18-28)due to work commitments, and had another three year break when I went to Uni as a mature student. So don't worry. You won't ever "lose" it. You'll always come back to it. Keep your chin up!

Sometimes I've had a several year break from fishing; not because I've gone off it, just that other interests became more important at the time (eh???). I'm going through a period like that now, I've only been fishing 3 times this year....

Never going to lose it completely though, a trip is already planned for late October :D

Put some thought to this one, its a reasonable question. No, I don't get fed up with fishing. When I get fed up with bream I go after pike. When I'm fed up with pike I go after bass. When I'm fed up with my local broad I go up river. I even go after carp, sometimes!

If I were a one method man, a one species angler, then yes, I probably would get fed up! But angling covers so many disciplines and techniques, so many species and locations, so no, I don't get fed up, apart fron during the close season!!

So, do those of you who get fed up fish for just one species?
