Changes in the water temperature have put an end to hopes that the North Sea cod population can return to the levels it enjoyed in the 1970s.

Just one trip up the north sea this year confirmed the opposite, i was sick at hooking cod, even me conger baits ended up with cod attached to them, still those scientists know better. Every wreck we visited, cod, cod and more cod. Shameful it was. :P

As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I'd have killed for a pollack or even a doggie Barry.....if that was depleted stock I'd love to have seen it in the 70s!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Thing is a few years ago, the commercial guys where saying that the lack of cod was due to a bit of global, some anglers were listening and scoffing at the idea, surly not, now a funded scientist is saying it so what do we do? Mind you i didn't see the normal ditty within the report, how does it go, 'of course with more funding'.................

 

Didn't see any soles, neither did we see any ars@les up there, most obliging they was, must do it again. One evening we was in the pub laughing so much it hurt, now what was that about iv'e forgot. :lol:
