Why am I being deluged with facebook stuff?

Hi Newt, it seems that someone included me in a group who are sellng tackle.So suddenly I was getting 20/30 "notifications" a day.

 

I don't use Facebook, even though I had signed up, so I have disabled my account.

you can remove yourself from the group. happened to me few weeks ago. disapointed that facebook allows anyone to simply add you to a group without notification or confirmation dialog.

That 'feature' of Facebook is particularly irritating. It appears that anyone on your list can add you to a group.

 

I switched the notifications thing off, anyway, as you get umpteen emails and texts every hour without it, and simply remove myself from any groups that I don't want to be in.

i was added by someone who wasnt even on my list. though they did send a friend request that i hadnt yet approved.

I had the same situation, dont know how cos i never knew the dude.

I marked him/her/it as spam and reported it. I left the group, i cannot recall joining it ?

spotted a news article on bbc red button earlier in the sci-tech section. you now have a facebook email address. if you check the info section of your account(the one other people see) you can in fact see that it has replaced the one you set yourself when you created the account.

 

looking now, mines was changed to: andrew.xxxxx.5688@facebook.com

 

no instruction how to ever use the account but it is getting deleted. really starting to get annoyed with this facebook now.

You should also look at the screen when you log into facebook, if it does not say https//facebook.............. you are at risk of having your account hacked, there is a solution which I will post if anybody requests.
