I've become glued to The Weather Channel (WTC). "Sandy" no longer eixists. It has been swollowed (absorbed) by the more powerful low pressure storm from the North. (something like that!). It is as Newt suggested - worser and worser and worser!

 

I wonder if this is a first for a Noreaster to swollow a hurricane?

Well, so far it seems to be worse than "worser" for New York City and the surrounding area. With the New York Stock Exchange closed for a few days and oil refineries in the NE part of the country stopping production until they can repair storm damage, I think the economic situation in the US is gonna be "worser" for a while.

Well, it's still the middle of the night over there at the moment so I'm guessing that the story isn't going to fully come out until late afternoon our time.

At the moment, there's a dozen confirmed deaths, there's been a fire on one of the barrier islands, a substation has exploded which is going to cause big headaches and there is major flooding. The flooding looks to include the subway system and at least some of the main river tunnels.

Looks like it's going to be a long hard battle to restore infrastructure.
