Help with the mrs !

My first thought would be to find a compromise BUT if there are baby blues involved you need to get that sorted out before even considering pursueing your own needs.

Talk you your other half and is you both find it hard seek proffessional advise before more serious underlying damage is done.

I speak from experiance - it took myself and my wife a couple of years to fix our marriage after our first child (resulting in a 2nd child :) ) as I could not see any problem and continued working long hours then going fishing whilst leaving her to get on with it.

Wants to spend time with me ( am home from 10 pm the night befor go to bed get up with the baby get up at 9 there all day till 3:30 when I leave for work that starts at 5:00 till 9 and then home at 10 ) it's not lie she gets enough of me , and in what phone proposed to do by give and take its more of take take take lately with her let her go out when ever she wants to and when I want to go out for a short session she has a gob on her that could turn milk to cheese . Am just at my wits end tbh guys and no amount of talking works . I love her to bits and the kids just time for me even my days off aren't my day off any more ...

Hate to say this mate but your last post speaks volumes. Life (and marriage) should work both ways - if what you say is accurate and truthful, then she's getting her time-out and has no justification at all for badgering you the way that you portray. You need to stand your ground: stick up for yourself and go fishing. Very few people enjoy conflict: fewer still enjoy being nagged. Continuing to let her walk all over you will serve no good purpose whatsoever, and is only likely to get worse unless the REAL problem is identified, and a proper resolution sought.

Face facts: if this was happening the other way around, YOU would be labelled as a bully and a control freak - some would even say that your behaviour was abusive.

None of these traits are exclusively male..........

I completely agree with philocalist as does my wife (a wise woman).

If your wife is having post-partum blues (a very specific sort of depression) or other problems that need treatment by a specialist, we are the wrong place to come for advice and need to get her help.

If (as it sounds) she is simply being a bully then you need to stand on your hind legs and say what you will do. I'd expect the scowl, a rant, a cry, and other similar emotions designed to make you give in but it will be fairly short lived if you stick to your guns. Not pleasant by any means but no time like now to set things right.

Adam, a message from Tabby...

Send Nikki and the kids round ours. Once she's chill, we'll babysit and you can take her out for the evening.

As soon as she realises you're a grovelling little toad at heart, the job's a good'un!

E-Bay is great for flogging off redundant tackle.

Thank goodness my wife of over forty years and four daughters married an angler, and always accepted and encouraged that. Mind you, I wanted to be there to share parenthood, it was never an issue. No advice, I'm no Claire Rayner, just a lucky man who's wife accepted and expected me to go fishing.

In the meantime enjoy your baby.
