I've got to be a bit 'careful'. I use the same dial up from two locations - home, and my unit (about two miles away). I want to find a way of ditching current system and getting broadband at home first.

It is possible to do the lot with one connection using a Virtual Private Network(VPN) over the internet.

I should know how to do it but never have, so I'll let someone else tell you.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

He has it correct. With broadband at home, you can easily put a modem on the home PC and dial into it for internet access at work via that connection. VPN if you need security and simply use RAS (your XP PC at home will take up to 10 simultaneous connections if you have the modems and phone lines :D ) and no need for service at work.

For what it's worth, I've just let adslguide do a speed check on my connection:

Downstream Actual Speed 1805 Kbps (225.6 KB/sec) True Speed (estimated)1949 Kbps (inc. overheads)

Upstream Actual Speed 239 Kbps (29.9 KB/sec) True Speed (estimated)258 Kbps (inc. overheads)
