Search for storm sticks . Made for brolley systems but also double as bank sticks. You can get push in or ones with screw points. They come in various lenghts and most are also extendable.

If they are for where I think they are then the Dinsmore long banksticks will do a decent job and are good value or if you want something even better then have a look at the Chris Brown ones which are superb.

I use Kings as does Steve Burke, he done a review on here before and a quick search bought it up. Take a look, they cost a lot but built to last. All explained in Steve's article.

The Kings are good and I have several which I mainly use for the river and general float and feeder fishing . If you are using single rod set ups as Steve does then they are fine but if using a two or three rod bar set up then I find the Chris Browns are far superior in terms of resisting twist mainly due to the much larger surface area in contact with the surrounding ground and fishing off stages, this can be quite important. Irrespective of which bank sticks are used it is also worth considering carrying something like a storm pole bottom section with a screw point and T bar so that you can develop a hole in most types of ground before inserting the bank sticks to be used. Excellent for the banks at Wingham.

I've used the King's aluminium banksticks for about 10 years now and they still haven't bent. As I put in my review the thin brass points are excellent for going in between bits of gravel, and are far better for this than a screw point. You can't of course screw into a stone! In clay though nothing beats a screw point, but we don't have any clay at Wingham.

I got King's to add a longer size to their range that's just about the perfect length for going in between slats in the platforms at Wingham.

As you know, Dave, I much prefer sticks for each rod as you can point them much more at your baits, and this certainly catches more fish - even with so-called self-hooking rigs! That said, Paul's set up is even more stable, and would be useful for fishing near snags. So it's swings and roundabouts. Having seen Chris Brown's products I agree with Paul that they're excellent quality.

For those of you coming to the Wingham Fish-In this spring, Rudd's suggestion of storm poles is excellent if you're in a peaty swim, and again all the platforms have slats that take storm poles. We do however lend out banksticks to guests at the Fish-In who request them.

Only just over 2 months to the Fish-In. It seems to have come round even quicker this year!.

My favourite long bank sticks are the tuffstix (or tuffsticks?) range. They are a lot thicker than the dinsmore ones and very sturdy. I actually use one as a landing net handle when I go piking as it can be slid into itself for easy carryying and then extended when I need the extra length for say netting in an empty lock.

This review looks alot like Steves dont you think :busted_cop:

I read Steve's review and have realised I have two 24 inch and two 48 inch sets of these same bank sticks. Strange thing is mine came with a JRC Stealth Brolly as Storm poles back in 2004/05 and were labelled Phillips!!!

Very good sticks/poles indeed but mine have only ever been used with the Stealth Brolley.

Many thanks, Rudd!

There were several of my reviews that had been rewritten. This is illegal as the following link from the Copyright Service shows: http://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/copyright/p05_copyright_infringement.

I had started to compose a demand that they taken down but got tied up with another problem. In the meantime the site owner seems to have taken action by removing the items from his index, although at the moment you can still get to the page via Rudd's link.

I'll look again in a few days. If it hasn't been corrected by then I shall certainly be following the matter up!

Thanks again, Rudd.
