Theft by the e u to keep cyprus afloat, sounds like a second coming of northern rock.

Dont mention northern rock to me, the set of overpaid irresponsible fat gets of bosses lost me a fair sum in my shares, while they walk away with millions in golden hand shakes,

I can see several runs on banks going to happen making it worse

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

Seems like a good way to help refinance. Much better than taking money from customers in the way they did with UK banks like Northern Rock.

 

This way the small savers pay a little, but the huge organisations that have used Cyprus for years for money laundering...(supposedly Russian banking organisations)....Pay the most. A clever move. Especially as it is done so they cant quickly move the money somewhere else

 

It would be great if they could do the same in Gibraltar, which has an equally bad reputation for shady money dealing.

Wow how many uncorrupted banks in Spain then boy. Like the local banks giving out 150% mortgages to people who could not afford them, then recall when the customer faulters.

Cyprus is finished, is crooked and illegal. Anyone thinking of coming, go back and take your life, your holidays and your family somewhere else!

We had a government guarantee on this money we'd invested and now as pensioners, how can we possibly recoup this money? It's currently a holiday weekend here and ATMs aren't working, so people aren't able to take money out. It's as if the money has been locked down.
