No need to guess. Chub have 46 or fewer scales in the lateral line, Dace have 49 or more

 

A hybrid might be expected to show an intermediate number

It's a dace; no scientific evidence of dace x chub in Britain so far. Theoretically possible but none confirmed. I have seen a mirror dace though (in a jar of formalin!).
