Exactly - and the Spanish were catching cod off the Grand Banks way before Columbus's voyage - I find it pretty inconceivable that they wouldn't have known of a land mass to the west of them....

Why I mention Columbus was for a point not to side track off the subject ,people where saying the technology of the day wasnt capable of sending men to the moon and earth did the seafarers of old navigate the globe that was probaly more ambitious for that age then sending men to the moon in late 60's and early 70,s
