Hi Steve,

The Mullet fishing in Guernsey has changed dramatically over the past ten years.

When I started Mullet fishing I realised that nobody fished for them after about November and every year the biggest fish was only about 6 lbs so we started fishing throughout winter...

After a couple of years of fishing through winter one of us has one of 10lb 7oz - a dream come true. Anyway, now loads of people fish for Mullet throughout the year, whereas then there were about 10 Mullet guys now there are loads of us! Now every year there is at least one fish over 9lb which is pretty good going the biggest so far is 11lb 7oz but I'm sure that the 14lb 1oz record will fall soon over here, if not in Alderney.

You should consider coming back...

BTW, my 8lb'der was caught at night time, swim feeder fishing in Herm. A few had been caught on normal bottom fishing tactics upto 10lb, so I tried with the Mullet gear.

I'm going to Herm tonight for an all-nighter, targeting Ray, they don't get big here and you don't catch many but Herm on a spring tide can bring rewards - can't wait!

Caleb, the mullet fishing seems brilliant over there! I confess I didn't know that night fishing was a viable option for them.

I caught my first mullet on swimfeedered maggots. The full story is in the articles section of Angler's Net at http://anglersnet.co.uk/authors/steve06.htm There are several other mullet articles there including from Leon.

Caleb from Guernsey:

Elton, Evo 4 - nice, know a few Evo owners, ever heard of Simon Norris? I'll give you an idea, check out one of my temp domains www.unleashyourbeast.com and check out his vehicle.

Is he anything to do with Norris designs (he asks, before viewing the link)?

Gaffer:

Hi Celeb, is there any fish in here?

Look closely, Gaffer. I think it may contain roach...
