What is the best way to stop my teenage daughters downloading microsoft chat onto my pc?

ive warned them time and time again but they are getting clever and covering there tracks.

In fact how can i stop them dialing out without removing the modem?

Teenagers just dont understand the word NO and will risk anything to get there chat fix.

change your password with your ISP.

Remove the tick from the "save password" box in dial-up networking.

You'll then be asked for the password before you can dial up to the net.

Truthfully, if you are not running XP and have a little money to spend, what you want is so easy with 2K/XP-pro and so near impossible with 9X/ME that it might be worth the investment.

Or failing the suggestions above you could just threaten to carry home surgery and remove fingers one by one. :):)
