After a couple of hours or so, fishing two or three different spots at various depths and using different baits.

On a number of occasions just moving 10-15 feet to the neighbouring peg brought results!

Usually when the light fades. :)

Or if the whole place goes silent. No ducks, birds, water flat calm but no fish signs. You know, those days when you feel you shouldnt be there!

And your primitive instincts are right....when you stop you dont get a sniff!

Sometimes i feel like ive over done it.

instead of feeding gradually ive pelted it in caught a few and the swims died off because there is an unatural amount of food at one time for the fish. Go Home!

Primitive feelings absolutely! Good call.

Sometimes I think it's easy to get primitive feelings and negative thinking confused. You know, the times when you're on the bank thinking "I'm not going to catch here" - and you don't. Some folks say this is a bad attitude and that positive thinking and self belief is a must, and maybe there's something in this, but I also think those primitive hunting instincts are important things to pay attention to.

And, of course, it's quite likely that such instincts are made up not of nebulous elements that we can neither see, hear nor touch, but of the very things that have also been mentioned - yet at a much more unconscious level.

There again, maybe I should just lay off the caffeine this early.

I think we underestimate the effects that the environment has on us. The moon has strange effects on the feeding of fish but it effects us too, the crime rate goes up when theres a full moon. Strange! I think we need to look into this further.
