Nice fish Hungry, did you take it home to eat? They are 1 of the finest eating fish in U.K waters.

I fish out of Aberystwyth for Tope and we get quite a few Greater Weavers too, the skipper drools whenever one of us has a good un.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

no i didnt ea it i wonder if there poison marinades em i did how ever keep one of the other fish i caught on that trip

If you wade in sandals or neoprene booties with rubber soles you are fine. Also, if you shuffle through the sand rather than stepping down onto it you tend to shift them - it is being squashed that they are objecting to - they bury in the sand a bit like flatties do. So when you tead on them they, quite naturally, want to defend themselves! With movement coming through the sand they hurry away before the "monster" arrives.

hiya bill, all doing fine. the seas still at 26c, warm enough to spend a while splashing around!

hope to get in a mullet trip midweek, been slow for them this year. hope youve managed to get out and about with a few fish.
