Nothing better than being able to take the kids out... even if it is raining, my lad caught his first fish of Art's Malibu II when he was 4, not sure who was more excited him or me... Great photo, now go buy her a rod. :D

Yep Mark was unsure too. Especially with the colour and the flat head. However, I 'poked' it and 3 spines came up, the final one very long - needle like in fact. Perhaps it isn't a weever fish (a hyrid perhaps?). Shame I didn't get a pic of it with the spine up it looked lethal!

Cant think of the damned name of that fish......is it a Bullhead??

The spines on the fish in your picture, will prick you but are not poisenous.

 

There are too types of weever fish, the Lesser and the greater.

They do deliver a very nasty sting as you say Specimen.

Best to cut them free, rather than let them into the Kayak, dont want them around the family jewels.

Well.....take away the sting but leave the swelling :D
