Guys (n Gals), I Need Your Help.......

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine wants to buy an Xmas present for a 'Fluff Flinger' ;) , but, like me, has no idea what a Fly Fisherman would want.

So, what sort of consumables does a Fly Fisherman need (including fly tieing bits'n'bobs)?

I would really appreciate it if I could have an idea of what, where and how much for each item, if that's ok? ;)

Many thanks in advance,

Garth.

look at:

http://www.tightlines.co.uk/

This will give you an idea of items and prices, I think the current catalogue has a gifts ideas page.

Fly boxes never go amiss.

It may be best to ask exactly what they want - it is easy to buy something that they already have or don't need. If it has got to be a surprise gift I would go along with Tony, fly boxes are always handy. A good one may be a dry fly box with compartments, they can be expensive and so more welcome!..........good luck with your choice.

As already suggested a good quality fly box with a dry fly compartment would make a welcome gift to any flyfisherman. Best of luck :)

Garth, does he keep any fish for the table? My wife bought me a Hot Smoker last year, brilliant.Cooks fish in 15/20 mins. Could maybe use it at the bankside or like me when I get the fish home. Just a thought.

I would agree with the smoker, and it doesn't just work on fish
