I think Greys have a lifetime warranty.

Read somewhere that you cut up the part of the rod you want replacing into 10cm bits and post it to them with a small fee and they replace it

I'd opt for the conoflex myself, have tried the apollo (fine rod) but not inspiring

knowing gray's they will replace it free of charge! i have used grays for many years without a fault, you mate must have been very unlucky, or did not quite get it far enough into his boot befor closing the lid!

i think its the second greys rod hes snapped kimik,ive heard of a few more going the same way as well.

Greys have had quite a few rods returned, since they moved production to the far east.

 

The Nemesis + slr is the one to go for.

 

That said, I use a Zziplex SST, and it`s an absolute dream to fish with, and all my fishing is done over heavy ground.

the mark2 greys rods are not 50% of the odl ones. try and get a second hand mark one either an apollo or a pz match, which an understated good allrounder. (I have one of each!). Im sure conoflexes are great etc, but greys feel so damn good.

 

Interestingly enough theres a guy selling a conoflex vampire on the wsf forum, with a daiwa 7ht, though at £150 I think hes asking a bit much. Could always try and bully the price down a bit if u live nearby. The other greys rod worth considering is the mercury... beautiful rods. but always try and get a mark 1 greys beach rod, the ones that are made in alnwick!

Same here, I have a pair of Gambit 24s, best light beachcasters I have ever fished with.
