Reliable.?

I built one 5 years back from a shell the bloody Electrics were terrible as they were back then. The oil /water heater blew regular and would then blow its gasket. expensive in manpower...They really were not reliable..

 

I am restoring a 2.8i Capri and they are reliable ....

 

 

PS....I feel old as i remember thad ad :(

Reliable.?

Mk2 golfs not reliable ? Theres nothing to go wrong ,everything bolts together and even the timing belt is easy to do

I have built many ( i can send you many piccies) and i loved them. Thet were solid but they were very prone for blown lights on the dash mainly. Also like the MK1 they had a rediculous ststem where the water would heat up the oil quicker but this valve was due to cracking and result was water in oil and there goes your head gasket!. And 99% of your ordinary friver did not know how to fix one. I picked up so many cheap one's with blown head gaskets it was unreal.....great car but if it did go wrong it really went wrong..

 

Back to the F1 i have just heard Riccardo has been disqualified something to do with the weight ratio of his car...Whatever that means?

It's not weight but fuel flow, a new parameter this year. Red Bull are appealing as they say the metering supplied by the authorities was faulty. It's all on the BBC F1 web page
