Festive Fishing

So, what are your festive fishing plans?

 

Mine involve a bit of river fishing on the 27th, but then the creche is shut so I'm playing dad next week.

Just bits - basically, me and a mate go down there, fairly mobile, and trot for perch, chub, roach and anything else that will play ball.

 

Never get anything huge, but have great fun on fairly light tackle and I like the 'not knowing' bit

Out perching yesterday for a 4 hours (very succesfully I might had - see 'Don't neglect the canals' thread). Down to the Itchen on Friday with Paul - might have another short session or two on the river if conditions look good (which aint forecast atm!)...

I am sneaking out to the Test for a spot of grayling fishing on the 30th. I have just purchased some bugs and nymphs on e-bay. Hope they arrive in time and it doesn't rain and it isn't windy. Don't mind the cold though. Good luck to everyone else going out.

I was out yesterday doing a sport of carping, had a ggod day in the end(11,12 and just under 18 lb)if this warm spell continues i will be bach there on tuesday. Other than that i will be on the R severn or the R dane on the 2nd jan

i'l be going out to see if anyones fishing rather than fishing myself ,no-one last year but a couple trying their new stuff out last boxing day .

Dont want to put a damper on it but there is a cold spell due to hit us all by Tuesday, with snow expected, been forecast for at least a couple of weeks

Three hours piking this morning!! Just got back, the turkey is nearly cooked. Out of seven other people in the house only one other is up.

 

How did I get away with it? Prepared everything yesterday, turned the oven on just as I left the house, and what beautiful morning its been!!

Oh yes, will be out again in the morning, me and Lynn, my wife, have a morning's roaching planned.
