this one came aboard this morning but what caused the damage to it's lateral line?, A seal maybe, one was seen in the area.

the fish is just over 3 lb.

I saw a mark like that on a sea trout last year, almost positive its a seal bite

hehe - We were out on 11th December when a blokes rod bent over double. The bloke thought he was into a Porgie and after a few minutes I suggested he give it a bit of slack line, as soon as he did up popped a seal with his fish in his mouth - The air turned a bit blue

I think it was made by a knife and fork.

Could it be a boat prop, would a seal bite not cut both sides of the fish.
