A boy goes and buys a fishing pole that is 6' 3" long. As he goes to get on the bus, the bus driver tells him that he can't take anything on the bus longer than 6'. The boy goes back to town, buys one more thing, and the bus driver allows him on the bus. What did he buy, and what did he do with it?

He bought himself a hacksaw and cut 3" off the pole. :)

Dont tell me I'm wrong if you have to rephrase the question.

He buys a 6' x 21" box and puts the rod in it diagonally!

Nope....

He bought a 6ft x 6ft box and put the rod in diagonally.

Smarty pants

They had run out of 6ft x 21" boxes.

Actually Huge, I think that was a dead good riddle, no kidding.

It also highlights the (sometimes) stupid and arbitrary nature of "rules". By rights, the bus rules should ban anything longer than 6' *in any direction* ... <hic> .... but no! do they hell ! <hic> next time I send a rod in the post I'll remember this ..... <hic> Is Pyhagoreous an A.N. member?

Bleeding heart liberal pinko, with bacon on top.

I'm over 6ft and I can get on buses, no problem. (only in height, not in any other direction of course)

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
