try getting real close i used bellows with my old camera not only was focus

why the hell did i get diverted here :angry::angry:

critical (microscopic adjustments) an awfull lot of light is needed as well :o

I have taken to using a tripod more and more recently. I always felt a bit self conscous carrying one about, but the results are worth all the effort. I have a quick release foot screwed to the camera base, and this locks on to the tripod in a moment, so no fiddling about needed.

 

My camera is fitted with VR but pics with the tripod are much better than hand held.

I went out macro'ing earlier today. It's not easy as the slightest movement screws up the shot, this was about my best.

Very nice pic, mate.
