Unlucky Steve. I'm going to try to grap a quick hour or so today if I can leave work in time, and will be out tomorrow with Rich. The weather and river conditions are the best I've seen for absolutely ages...I've forgotten what to expect when it's like this, I'm actually a little nervous!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Blank! Everything looked perfect so I guess it figures...!

All you can do is make sure you're on the bank when conditions look perfect, after that is a matter of whether the fish agree.

It's not the first time I've blanked there and I'm sure it won't be the last :) I'll try again tomorrow at a different stretch I think. The water is clear and the sun bright, so I will probably go somewhere with deeper water and more shade. This bit is relatively shallow and exposed.

Had a quite brilliant day today, nine chub all between two and four pounds, a perch nearer three than two, a couple of really good dace and a few chublets. Another day travelling light, so light that I forgot the bloody scales so when I post pics feel free to tell me that my estimates are way out. I've caught bigger fish with static bait tactics but with a float rod and centrepin that's my best session ever.....anywhere.
