At least Defra have noted that recreational anglers make a major contribution to the economy and that it is time that they listen to our needs as well as the commercials.

 

Well done to everyone who wrote to Defra and to all at BASS for fighting the fight, shame that they haven't increased the limit to 45cm and also that it isn't too late.

The commercial fishermen will still plunder under size fish, so why shudnt we? Wen woz the last time you looked at a bass in the supermarket? well under that size!!! Anyway, onece mine are filleted and gutted out at sea, who is to say wot size they were? haha

Bass from supermarkets are often farmed bass - ASDA sell farmed bass from Greece - size limits do not apply.
