Just read the full press article and there's no more information in there. With the tides round here 58 hours should see you washed up on Brighton seafront, not close to where you went in. I'll start a new post in the non-fishing section if anyone's interested in what comes out over the next few days.

OK - now that this post has risen from the depths of my attempt at humour and turned into a reasonably serious discussion on names I've decided on Labrax? - unless someone's going to pop up and tell me they've named theirs that already?

I have decided to name my P13 "DRAKAR" :bones:

It’s a nod to my Scandinavian ancestry, recent and ancient: lots of sea captains on my mother’s side and a Drakkar is what the Viking long ships were called, also paddled vessels, of course, although they did use sails, but then I’ve always got that option too. I’ve decided to drop a K for call sign convenience, but also because Drakkar is probably an Anglo Saxon corruption. Drakar means dragons in Swedish and the feared Viking ships were also known as Dragon ships.

As an additional bonus, when I googled it, I discovered there’s a holy mountain in Tibet called Mount Drakar where monks gather to meditate and consecrate the surrounding environment, protecting all flora and fauna in the area from exploitation. That’s just soooo me, and satisfyingly Yin and Yang, don’t you think? :P:sun:

Yup, my tapered shock leaders arrived from Veals today (got 5, so if anybody needs one...) I’ll probably get there quite early on Friday, and as soon as I’ve pitched my tent, I expect I’ll go for a quick squirt on the wet stuff. Are you sure the local tackle shop will have enough bait for everybody?

Great Name!

Yep it is sooo you.

Boss given me permission to leave work early so hope to arrive about 5 ish. Might kip in Bivvi Bag if weather is OK so might be able to go straight out for a wet. ;)

Will be bringing a BBQ (Gas) for those that want to partake. Shame not too!! :sun:

On about names:

Osprey

More fishy type birds

Dorian OOOPS!!

Seriously. Bald Eagle (I could have used that one.)

Or look up the Native American Indian names for some of these. That would be cool.
