this was the biggest yet Stu ,around 20lbs,didn't want to come up off the bottom

Always nice to see fellow Conger fans, and it always amazes me that people try to avoid the things???

 

On a recent trip we managed 6 in three hours, most came as the flood tide eased, probably around 10-11pm. We normally use mackie and cuttlefish.

I think they are a great fish- been targetting them from a new mark recently, but been using mono in the hope of the chance of any other big fish around at this time of year.

 

Now have some 250lb mono after they have hammered all the mono up to 100lbs!

Hi Grant,we're using heavy mono too(I use 250lb ready made traces from the local tackle shop)

 

mind you I had a 50 odd cm Bass on a wire trace not so long back
