Got at least three different women fishing my local waters..all carping and bivvying up, mostly on their own (although one seems to like the company of men )

There seems to be a much higher proportion of female anglers in the States. Two differences compared with the UK immediately spring to mind: US anglers fish much more for the pot than we do, plus they use lures rather than messy baits much more than we do.

 

Many of the British female anglers I've come across are flyfishers. They often fish for the pot with of course a form of lure.

 

Of course it may simply that more men have retained the hunting instinct.

 

Certainly I agree though that most female anglers I've met sure can catch fish!

My wife and I have always fished together. We're lucky in that our enjoyment of angling is something we both have in common and I really missed having her there on the odd occasion that I've been without her.

 

And yes, she probably does catch more than me!

I wish wor lass would fish with me more, she has been fishing before with me but she said it was

BORING well that was it i wont take her any more cos i told her to she had to be quiet which ment not talking & i think that was the real reason she wont go but dont tell her i said that.
