Nice pics Phooey.

I think I mentioned Grove Point in another post once, but for anyone thinking of paddling from the southern Breakwater entrance and round past Balaclava Bay you will pass through Grove Point. The tide races round here (especially mid tide on springs). You will be in for a hard paddle 400 yards or so if you decide to head back against this tide. If you're passing through here and you are close inshore be on the lookout for rocks just under the surface.

Also if you head up right round the Bill (past the big lighthouse and Pulpit Rock area) strong currents may greet you if the tides aren't right. Zzippy and I fished Chesil Cove on the other side of the Bill a few weeks back - we could see the current building up there on a flooding tide.

Fantastic report and pics again. That's a fine looking Conger to me Richi, and Phooey has done us proud again with the pics.

I reckon he could get a job as a photographer when he retires

Brilliant stuff,

Stu. :)

Great catch for sure, well done.

I'd give it 35lb tops though.

Brilliant stuff lads. Well done Richi - I must stop this work stuff getting in the way of more important things - like going fishing!

There are still plenty of big eels in the sheltered bay up this way if you fancy another go....pick a good weather window.

I must come and see what the eastern half of Dorset looks like - from the pictures it looks like a wonderful lace to be.
