Aahh.... the vex'd question of kit location on the freedom, I've had mine since March this year but have just had enough outings and as much pondering time to finaly decide on location of scotty mounts e.t.c. Having just purchaced some flush mount's off S2vto (Thank's M8 there going to work a treat) I have removed the mount from the front of the Yak and will get some extenders for the flush mount s from somewhere (any suggestions anyone).

I've also fitted a deck hatch to the rear of the seat which will make a big difference. :)

No problem!

have you pictures of hatch?

top 3 would be:

1 Drifter > very stable, can fully load it and I got one!

2 Dorado > fast & responsive

3 prowler 13 > very good all-rounder

plus these are 3 of the 4 kayaks I have paddled!

Extending rod holders NEMO - if you are on about raising the flush mounts - get some 40mm water pipe and push it INTO the flush mount, then mark it to cut at your preferred height. If you cut a slot out of one side with a Stanley knife (I am allowed to use a brand name or is it advertising??) then the reel seat of a multiplier will fit in the slot and keep the rod the right way up when trollling etc. Cheap and effective. I have mine about 12" out of the flush mounts - keeps the reels a little higher and out of the spray.

What is your Top 3 choice of Kayaks for fishing in order of preference .. ?

So hopefully as the thread progresses we can possibly see a good top 3 emerge and hopefully a Winning kayak ... If you have only paddled 1 then just put 1 ...

Mine is ....

1) Wilderness Tarpon 120

2) Prowler 13

3) No third entry as yet

Wouldn't you have to own all three to have an opinion?

No - just to have paddled them.....come to one of the meets Maidstonemike, then you'll get to play on other peoples kayaks and find out what they are like. It is a good time to try different models and see how they compare.
