As soon as defra got the backing of RSA reps in regards of bag limits and rod licences the deed was done.

You make it up as you go along!

Do you not have something worthwhile to occupy your time Challenge?

Or have the delights of trolling gained too great a hold?

It’s the delights of all our anglers last year that have got a hold on me Leon.

I was talking to a man who was at a meeting in Scarborough last week and he said it was all done and dusted before they even sat down.

Just a meeting to prove that they have had consultation with RSA.

They (DEFRA representation) said that BASS fishing would be the first to have bag limitations imposed and it looked as if the rest would follow.

mind you they (apparently) did say that because of urgent commitments the meeting must be finished by 8 45pm only for my friends to find that the urgency of the conclusion of the meeting was in line with the meal that they (DEFRA representation) had booked in the local Indian restaurant.

Sounds like DEFRA to me.

Regards.

Sorry Challenge, I've stopped believing your reports :(

O I see, the man was darlick who is a member of this forum, another person who was there was John Brennan, why don’t you ask them to confirm what I said? Or is it that by just putting negative comments like that means that you only believe what you want to believe?

In your case Challenge, experience shows that tends to be the wisest course of action

Your refusal to believe until proof is given is a rational position to take.

denial of all outside of your own limited experience within the commercial sector can only be blamed on your own personal denial system, that seams to of gone into overdrive since your stance on recreational reform has been found to be only popular with a few unelected representatives and now the commercial representation who they where originally hoped to of effected the most. :sun:

Give it a rest Challenge, you are becoming very tedious.

I don’t find it tedious to try and represent something that exists.

If you want to look at everything from a tedious point of view then I suppose everything will appear just that.

QUOTE(challenge @ Dec 9 2006, 02:16 PM)

DEFRA have published a summary of responses recieved to the Government's Consultation on a Marine Bill

A chargeable licensing scheme and bag limits

3.30 There was support both from the angling sector and other respondents for proposals in respect of “bag limits” and a chargeable licensing scheme for angling.

Can I ask a particularly stupid question(s).

1. Where did this thread start? Is there a background to this I have missed?

2. Who or what organisations were present at the meeting? By which I mean RSA or Commercial

3. What did the memberships of these organisations instruct their reps to say.

Many thanks and apologies for being behind the times.

Out of many things I enjoy in life, those that start with an F tend to feature the most.

Oh! and by the way.

I've spent quite a few hours this morning putting together a case against current proposals for bag limits

Hope you're putting in as much time on a case against Sea Angling License proposals!
