Fed up

I won't and cannot name names. I answered a request on another site, for assistance for any help with donating a rod that needed a minor repair, as requester was short of cash. I offered mine that needed a new tip ring, but otherwise in perfect working condition for free, provided shipping costs were covered. I did not ask for costs before despatch, just asked that they be repaid upon receipt when it was received and they could afford it.

Got a message saying yes please. Explained again it would need repair and cost of shipping would be about at outside about £20, because of being an outsize package, 2 metres long.

Got a message saying fine.

Arranged collection to-morrow for delivery next Wednesday, cost £17.50. Advised recipient, having paid myself for delivery to-day. Got message ten minutes ago now saying he does not want it, as he won't pay £17.50 for delivery as too expensive.

Cost of repair will be about £10.00

Cost of new equivalant rod about £150.

Total cost of free rod delivery and repair about, £27.50.

Tried to be nice as it is Xmas.

Fed up.

Am I being unfair?

What a rotten way for him to behave. There are some descriptive terms that would apply here but the forum autocensor would stop most of them.

Hopefully you can get your money back but if not, it is still a little better than finding out after you sent the rod.

I sort of understand why you won't name the person (and I use that term advisedly) but I will ask that if he happens to post a request of any sort here, you report it so we can delete the request and the user.

Could add to the above quotes but I think they sum up the situation very well.

Your certainly not being unfair Trubshaw, don't dwell on this mate and have a merry old Christmas. :fishing1::drunk:

Thank you all for the messages of support. I began to wonder if I was being unreasonable. If he turns up on this site I will advise the mods accordingly.

Tell him to be kind enough to post it back to you. If he does not get on his case Henry, that is disrespectful to say the least don't let him off the hook mate. Tell me who it was Henry, i will name him instead.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Thanks Barry,

I have managed to cancel the couriers, but have paid a £5 cancellation fee. Won't name names unless I spot him, but if I do he will not like the response.
