Try one of the inshore boats, there good for the odd ling and I can guarantee you that you won’t get board catching large cod all day. :rolleyes:

The funny thing is that the present bureaucracy needs commercial fishing to survive for themselves to survive - a symbiotic relation between managers and commercial fishermen.

 

Another funny thing it is that angling suffers from this symbioses. Angling would prosper if there was no such things as commercial fishing, illegal nettting and commercial fisheries managers around. <_<

I still say that fisheries are basically self managing, it is only when managers interfere it all goes wrong.

 

what regulates preditors? the number of prey or do the preditors regulate the numbers of prey.

Your not wrong there Wurzel, if the managers had done thier job properly and produced the mythical conserved stocks etc, they would then be out of a job and be worrying about thier pension fund.
