Steve the boys & I would love to come having missed it last year. As much as we love to stay we will have to leave on the Sunday. So if we are lucky enough to get a place then we could share, that would be 2 swims.

Folkestone is a venue that can be fished with freshwater gear, especially on the right day when it's calm and the mackerel are in close.

Float-fishing for mackies and gar fish, or light spinning for bass (or Mr Waller might want to put out a livebait for the bigger fish, no wire-trace needed)

(But please don't fish for the rocks unless you really know what your are doing)

Hi Steve, this is a tough call! If there are 2 sittings I have a better chance of attending but if there's just 1 and I get to go, I'll be there for longer...

It was great being there for 3 full days last year. In fact it wasn't long enough!

I'll go for 1 sitting and keep all my fingers crossed.

(Another option could be to split the attendees into 3groups and have 1 group for 3 days and the other 2 for 1 1/2 days each, depending on their preference. This might be an admin nightmare though!)

I don't want to hijack this thread - hopefully Steve won't mind me posting these pics of last year's event. (I've only just got the photos off the damn camera!)

My swim:

3lb 5oz! (PB)

3lb! (PB)

Plenty of pike keen on worms!

There are more but I've reached my upload limit. Wingham really is a special place.

I was really hoping to get down last year but had to face the reality that a 400 mile round trip for one night wasn`t really viable.

I`d love to come down this year to meet everyone and fish such a wonderful water so would have to vote for 1 sitting.

it was suggested last year but seeing chesters1 was involved i think it put most people (excepting Mr U) off ,its a nice camp site and well worth a visit even if you didnt want to bump into chesters1.

you can set your rods up sit back and not be bothered by interuptions from nasty fish (unless you like doggies ) .

its easy to get to! just drive south east to the corner of england and your just nearby.

sorry for the wingham post maybe another version could start on the sea fishing section for those interested.

I would only be able to attend if it was one sitting as the long drive down would not warrant 1 days fishing.

I missed last year but would love to be able to fish there again.
