Save money on fishing

I have just payed £66.50 so i can go coarse fishing & do a bit of Salmon fishing in the back end and i need to fork out another twenty odd pounds if i want to use more than two rods when carp fishing this summer. I have not had my licence checked in the last 10 years and from reading the news today the average fine for not having a licence is only about £100. now if i have got my maths right there's quite a saving going on in my head.

£66.50 + £25.00 = £91.50

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Don't forget that you will also have picked up a criminal conviction.

That could affect you in lot's of ways:

- Job Opportunities

- Credit Rating

- Refusal of Insurance cover and/or higher premiums

etc

Yeah and why bother with the salmon licence, the EA aren't doing anything to aid improvement of salmon stocks, people would think anglers were just killing them!

Plus with day tickets and tackle etc so cheap these days its a wonder how he EA can jusify 25 quid. After all I brought my four identical rods and reels, my bivvy, bedchair, rod pod, alarms cost much less than 50quid plus my 10 kilos of boilies and 10 of particles were expensive at £5.

You could take up Golf, I hear its cheap to join a golf club, £700 joining fee and around £600 per year membership.

Perhaps you could sneek onto the golf corse at night and save a bit of money! You might need a lamp!!!

I forgot to mention if you get to the lake and someone is in your swim, just kill them and knick all their stuff. Afterall if you don't get caught its fine right?

I don't think the licence fee is to high at 24.50, but I do feel having to buy an extra 24.50 for a second licence to fish a third rod a little off. Could they not sell a 3 rod licence for an extra 12.25? and also could they not have a single rod licence for those who only fish with one rod, they still exist, not everyone wants or needs a 3 rod set up. So why should they pay us much as Carp Anglers?

Even though I never get my licence checked, would rather pay the money and have piece of mind that I will not get caught without one. After all fishing is suppossed to be relaxing. Not sure whether I would enjoy it, if I had to worry whether everyone who come along for a chat may be from the EA.

Actually, it might be better paying more for each licence as this may help fund more EA bailiffs who could help in removing unwanted trespassers and poachers off our waters The extra money could also be put to use making good our banksides and educating ignorant ars*ho&es who see fit to litter the rivers and banks damaging the environment, precious wildlife and the UK's reputation for being a clean, caring and civilised society.

Those who even think about licence avoidance really dont have anglings best interests at heart and purely a fear of not being caught is not the reason to buy a licence.

Just a thought although I cant work out which of the fine folks above were joking or not. I hope some were.
