Carrier bags, a reel and what turned out to be a bong ! Someone was obviously having a chilled out time when they were fishing !

A Bat when fly fishing, it took my fly on the back cast and a Swallow also when flyfishing, this took my top dropper when playing a fish into the boat.

You will be happy to know both were released safley, if not a little shaken. (I also landed the fish)

I had a damned heavy keepnet full of mud trolled up today, rod bent almost double and I thought I'd get broken off. Didn't help that it was midstream and 3 boats decided to come through at this point in time. Nor did it help having an audience of bankside and boat anglers either.

I should have weighed and photographed it, I reckon it'd have gone 50lb. I took it ashore and dumped it next to a bin.

Wetter than an otter's pocket.

I've had a wax jacket that took a great deal of heaving to raise to the surface, also had a length of underwater cable, and a stereo unit.

My son had a dining room chair, which he landed.

Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... C.Yates

Last july , float fishing on a local club lake , had a slow slide-away bite and so i struck . Bit of a dead weight on the end and thought i'd dragged a small branch off the bottom but as the hook came to the surface , i could see that attached to it was an old tub of split-shot.....LEAD split shot - Know idea how long it'd been down there
