i can recommend flo-cast from ultima ,very good ,great casting line

Thanks, I shall avail myself of some of that. Presumably it's widely available and my local tackle shop will have it in stock? Don't fancy going mail order this close to the day.

I've never used braid, have no idea of the advantages / disadvantages, but why would it be banned from the fishery?

D

I am a bit behind on this thread and only read the last page. Braid can cause the fish more damage then mono lines if it gets wrapped up in it which could be quite easy the way trout and salmon jump around and even the grayling. This is why I won't use it on the rivers for barbel fishing.

One life, live it, love it, fish it!

Just a heads up from Heidi who organises the fishing at the venue:

"An 8.00am start is fine. Please start your day and the keeper will catch up with you sometime throughout the day.

We have had some lovely Grayling caught on sweetcorn and trotting maggot, reaching nearly 2½lbs.

Enjoy your day."

Makes bait choice a bit simpler.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Cheers Tony. Do you know what time we have to be off the river?

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
