If anyone is thinking of combining a family/fishing holiday next year this should suit most folk. The sea fishing is good, both from the shore and boat. The target fish are mullet, bass, pollack, wrasse, mackerel, conger and tope.Even I catch fish there!!

There is loads to do and see. There are 4 botanical gardens on the doorstep and the nearby Galloway forest to explore. Plenty of sandy beaches for the kids to play on as well.As for digs there are plenty of caravan parks with vans for hire and also holiday cottages in the area.

We have a static caravan on the Clashwhannon site,Drummore. Here is the link -

The site also takes on a small number of tents. There is also a pub on the site which does great meals.

Check out this view of the Lake District (70 miles away) which I took from the site

This one I took of the Isle on Man,you can see the village of Drummore on the right

I hope this has whetted your appertites!!! If you want any more info just drop me a line. Go on,work on the wife about it

Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends. There is a secret song at the center of the world, and its sound is like razors through flesh.

I supposed to go fishing there today but the wind was too much. Spoke to the skipper this morning and he said the codling and mackerel are giving them selves up. They even looked at mackerel in the inner harbour yesterday that was chasing the white bait. Anyone who is on the shore or pier will do well at the present.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

What were the baits you were using for each of the species and where were you fishing? We visit the area regularly and I am looking to build the species list next time. Thanks
