I need to open a new bank account. What proof of id are they likely to require ?

A full picture driving licence, and/or a current passport. A few recent household bills wouldn't go amiss, Glenn.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

So if you've been driving for a few years and not had to renew your paper licence for any reason, and you don't have a passport 'cos you don't travel abroad, you have the devils own job proving who you are in your own country.

Birth certificates are accepted if original, no photocopies, but if you have to send it away and your original gets lost in the post you're bu@@ered.

The post office checking facility for documents only works if you have a passport.

Our perception of time as an orderly sequence of regular ticks and tocks has no relevance here in the alternative dimension that is fishing....... C.Yates
