Advice - do get it done. Not fun by any means but sooooo much better afterwards.

Or you could let the doctor do it without the pain or risk of infection..

Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Pete If he told you that he aint a mate!!!! I lost a toe nail training once The pain is unbelieverble

If you dont like needles ask them to use a topical (cream/ointment) type anastetic not as good as having a ring block

aroung the affected toe but better than Bl00dy pliers and booze, also the feet are prone to infection as they are never realy compleatly dry in socks and shoes bite the bullet fella and get it done Ask Nurse Judy or sportsman if I am wrong.

Pete, I have removed one or two nails in my time myself!! As a Sick Bay Medic hasten to add!! And PLEASE do NOT even think about doing it yourself!! I HOPE you are joking?!

It is a relatively painless operation, simply done by applying a "RINGBLOCK of lignocaine Pete, to the joint of the toe affected with a TINY little needle (After applying some local anesthetic cream if needed?) And THEN ripping the bloody thing off!!!! :D:D:D

But more usual is parting the skin to the side of the nail away from the nail itself and cutting the nail correctly. Hurts a bit but CERTAINLY easier than removing it yourself!! And if it gets infected, you MAY lose your toe!! Now you DON'T want that to happen!!! You would HAVE to learn to walk again!!!

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Had both mine done about 20 years ago but had the nail bed removed (they don't grow back) the operation don't hurt but the pain for

two days after is like somthing you can only imagine, pills do not reach that far down but well worth it in the end
