York bans bonfire night

Why do we celebrate the torture, dismemberment and burning of Catholics? What other group would tolerate this?

Why do we have fireworks for sale in our shops?

Worst thing Marco Polo ever did was introduce fireworks to Europe.

Discuss.

I love fireworks, me. Got bugger all to do with Guy Fawkes, catholics, or anything other than the fact that I like the noise and the 'prettiness' of the whole occasion.

It's a bit like Christmas - I'm not religious in the slightest, but I love buying the kids prezzies and seeing them smile.

I agree with Elton, an organised event like this helps to keep the fireworks problem in one place, in this instant raise some cash for the club and I am willing to bet a pound to a penny if you asked everyone who passed the gate what the origin of Guy Fawks was apart from trying to blow up the Houses of Parliment the rest would be a big black hole.

Today it is just a fun evening out for the family.

trouble is now the fireworks are tiny squibs ,bring back the time when the earth shook :(

we will be as usual sitting on a roadside bank watching fireworks other suckers pay for and with our new heated blanket too

last year the organisers security tried dazzling us with their torches! my 6D maglite showed them what torches are ,i may buy a 6 million cp one and show everyone but then i would be paying although in a round about way.

our kids had grandstand views of our last villages show all for free as well ,if they stop who cares but please ban xmas as well especially the round table (a local charity) who by putting on a 20 year old tape of xmas songs think in some way i will give them money to do it

thrusting a money box under my nose isn't a way into my pocket i can assure them

Fair enough Ken but why do we sell fireworks in our supermarkets? Time it was banned.

I could go with that no problem, I have been approached to sell them on some very good terms but refused to.

I know it's wrong and naughty, but i have smiled before when i have seen clips on the telly of telephone boxes blowing up when kids have let a firework off in them. Smack my hand.

BTW Chesters, i wouldn't want to know whats hiding in your pocket.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
